Back Bay Apartments
Back Bay is a gorgeous area of Boston that's nestled barelly south of the Charles River, west of Central Boston, and East of Allston & Brighton. Newbury Street & Boylston Street are the two primary roadways that run through Back Bay, both of which are widely known for small shops, boutiques, and a rich sense of style. Popular storefronts and brands that can be found are Burberry, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Hempest, H&M, Lacoste, Club Monaco, Salon Mario Russo, Acqua Salon, Sonsie Restaurant, Ciao Bella, & more!
Back Bay is considered to be a hot spot of Boston, and is where professionals of all ages tend to live. Due to its desirability, rents are high, fashion is competitive, and lifestyles are exquisite.
Rent Prices
Rent is similar to Beacon Hill rates, but may be mildly less expensive. Typical rates are around $1,600 for a one bedroom apartment, and $2,000-3,000 for a two bedroom. Studios will not run for less than $1,000 even in the slower rental seasons such as November through March.
The best time to search for apartments is in April and May because this is when the rental season begin. It's at this time that landlords ask their current tenants if they'll be renewing their leases the following year, and if not then they put the apartment on the market for showing immediately.
The rent cycle starts on September 1st which means that the majority of people secure a place and move in by September 1st. Overall, the earlier you prepare in the summer, the better off you'll be. Be sure to start looking early otherwise you'll be forced to settle for something that is maybe a little more expensive, and less quality than you'd hope for. But if you're running late in the season, their are always deals that unexpectedly become available, so don't hesistate on getting started as soon as you can.
