Belmont Apartments
Belmont is a small suburb town located north of Boston and west of Cambridge. According to the 2004 census only 25,000 residents live in Belmont. Although Belmont is close to Cambridge and Newton which were founded in the mid 1600's, Belmont was not founded until more than 200 years later in the mid 1800's. Originally Belmont was part of Cambridge and was merely a region called 'Bellmont', but was then annexed and the name was changed to 'Belmont'.
Subway Access
Although there are no subway trains that run through Belmont, there are numerous MBTA busses that run through Belmont. While the additional bus commute may be a hassle to commuters and resident, it may be worth it when considering how low rent prices are.
Apartment Rates & Pricing
Rent prices in Belmont are significantly lower than Boston rent prices, and similar to the prices in Watertown MA. Studios can be found as low as $700-1,000, and one beds can be found in the $1,000-$1,300 range which is very low considering Bostons prices are over $1,500 for a small one bedroom apartment.
Belmont benefits from a separate rental season cycle than the rest of the city. The more typical move in date is September 1st, but since Belmont doesn't contribute much to the student population housing, theirs less economic pressure from the September move in date.
