Downtown Boston ApartmentsDowntown Boston is one of the cities most coveted areas to live. The area represents a number of sub-areas that are composed of assortment types of businesses, government buildings, health care facilities and colleges and universities. Bostons Downtown area is so expensive due to the high demand and scarsity of aparments located near the Financial District, Beacon Hill, Seaport and ChinaTown. Nearby Colleges & Universities Boston is known primarily for 3 things: It's colleges, it's hospitals and the Boston Red Sox. That being said, Boston has one of the most concentrated student populations out of all the cities in the United States. Near Downtown you'll find Emerson College, Suffolk Univeristy, New England College of Law, Tufts University and Berklee College of Music. In addition to these named schools, there are numerous others within only a 15 minute walk in almost any direction. Boston University, Northeastern University, MIT, Harvard and Boston College can all be reached with only a 20 minute train ride from Downtown. While searching for an apartment, prospective tenants often find themselves looking at highrises that offer an assortment of social classes, age levels, nationalities and various levels of income. The reason for this of course is due to Bostons high level of diversity and the city being connected to the rest of the world through it's educational and health care offerings. Subway Access If you know Boston, than you know about the continuous struggle to find parking and the stress from navigating the streets during high traffic times.
