Kendall Square ApartmentsKendall Square is an area of Cambridge popular for it's proximity to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and it's access to Boston, which is only a 15 minute walk over the Massachusetts Aveenue Bridge. Kendall Square is located on the Red Line Subway, and has it's own subway stop called 'Kendall Square'. Apartments in the area generally serve professionals and students that commute into Boston. Other poular destinations nearby are Harvard Square where Harvard University can be found, Porter Square and Davis Square which are both nice plaza areas perfect for spending a late summer afternoon or evening. Subway Access As previously discussed, Kendall Square has its own subway station lcated right near MIT. Subway travel costs $2 per trip, or $60 per month. We typically suggest that newcomers to Boston purchase monthly passes if they do not have a car, and saving money is a priority to them. Parking in the city will run about $15 per day, and up to $350 per month for a private parking space. Monthly passes are easy to buy and end up saving a lot of time over buying a new pass on a daily basis. Prices of these areas are fairly higher than suburban towns and neighborhoods surrounding Boston, but that doesn't bother those that come for the rich culture and the wealth of knowledge that colleges and public facilities that Cambridge has to offer. Varying factors of apartment prices will be stuff like distance to subway, included parking, and if dogs or cats are allowed.
