Kenmore Apartments

Kenmore square is well known area of Boston next to fenway that people go for restaurants, drinks, prepping for Red Sox games, and while spending time on Boston Universities campus. Boston Univeristiy or "BU" is only a 5 minute walk away from Kenmore on Commonwealth Avenue. Apartments in Kenmore are desirable because it acts as a connecting hub between Boston and metro west (areas like Brookline, Brighton, Allston, Newton, ect). Many students and young professionals live in the Kenmore area because of its upbeat setting and it's easy access to Downtown Boston.

Nearby Colleges & Universities

Boston University is Kenmores closest college, but other colleges nearby are Berklee, Boston Conservatory, and Kaplan Career Institute. Many students live in Kenmore when on-campus housing is limited, or students are looking for a more independent experience in the city. Living off campus has it's benefits such as escaping required meal pleans, no oversight from resident assistants ("RA's") and more options of locations to choose from. Often colleges don't grant students options as to where they can live on campus. Also, co-signers are often allowed when students lack sufficient funding or credit requirements.

Subway Access

The Green Line subway goes right into the heart of Kenmore Square. Fares are $2 per trip, or $60 per monthly pass. Passes are always suggested since they save money and are generally safer to carry than a wad of cash for purchasing tickets on a daily or per trip basis. The Subway runs every 10-15 minutes, and Downtown Boston is only a 15 minute train ride from Kenmore.

Apartment Rates & Pricing

Apartments in Kenmore are less expensive than city areas (such as Back Bay or Beacon Hill), but are more expensive than areas further west of the city. A studio in Kenmore will run about $1000-1300, and a one Bed will run about $1300-1700. Two bedrooms start around $1800 and run upward of $2600. Students in the area are suggested to bunk up with a few roommates to save on rent and have a safer and more enjoyable experience in the city.
