Newton Apartments
Newton is a suburb town of Boston located directly to the west of Boston metropolitan area, just west of Brookline. It is sometimes refered to as 'metrowest'. In 2003, Newton was estimated to have approximately 85,000 residents making it the largest town in the state. Newton does not have one city center but has about 13 small downtown village areas. Settled in 1630, Newton is one of the countries oldest towns. Property values have been significantly higher than the rest of the state, some of which date back to the settlement days.
Subway Access
It generally takes about 30-40 minute into the city from Newton on the Subway. Newton is approximately 15 subway stops outside of the city, and each stop takes between 2 and 3 minutes. Fares are $2.00 per trip or $60 for a monthly pass which is usually preferable to $15/day parking rates.
Apartment Rates & Pricing
Newton is home to a large number of commuters that work in downtown Boston. They benefit from lower rents than can be found in the city, and the living conditions are considerably higher. A one bedroom in newton may rent for $1200-1400, where someone would be lucky to find a sizable studio for that price in the city.
