Tremont Street ApartmentsTremont Street is a major road that runs through the center of Boston, over the Massachusetts Turnpike and then almost parallel to the Charles River on the Roxbury/Boston line. In addition to the constant traffic, Tremont is known for it's shops, restaurants and it's connection to othe major streets in Boston. Tremont Street, like many streets in Boston, is irregularly positioned and is not a streight line. Some areas of Tremont Street are highly desirable and have extremely high property values while others are far lower than the median home price in the urban area. Subway Train "T" Access Tremont Street runs near numerous Subway Line Stations including Park Street, Boylston Street, Ruggles and Roxbury Crossing. Nearby Colleges & UniversitiesColleges such as Emerson, Suffolk, Northeastern, New England Law and Turfts Medical are very close to Tremont Street. Due to the abundance of undergraduate and graduate students in the area, rent prices are generally inflated far above the national median which often puts pressure on students and professionals to move outside of the city upon graduation. Rent prices for an average studio can easily run $1400, where one bedrooms are hard to find for less than $2200. Most often times, students will live "dorm style" when living in off campus housing. This means doubling up with two people per bedroom, with sometimes as many as three people per bedroom. Additionally, sometimes students will rent 4-5 bedroom apartments to take advantage of more shared common space and lower price per apartment. This means each room can go for $700-800 per student. Standard Rent Prices Tremont Street prices vary greatly depending on where on Tremont the apartment is located. As a general rule though, as one gets closer to Bostons Downtown area, rent prices increase dramatically. Near Roxbury Crossing a 2 bedroom apartment might go for $1600 while Downtown you'll find a 2 bedroom for no less than $2800. Rent prices change based on economic conditions such as increases in demand, further construction in the area, national economic conditions and home prices. Typically in todays market you'll see studios in Downtown around $1400, 1 Bedrooms around $2000-2400, 2 Bedrooms for $2800-3400 and 3 Bedrooms for $4800+.
